Who is Kapil Sharma?

His father, Jeetendra Kumar Punj, was a head constable in Punjab Police, who died in 2004 after his cancer diagnosis in 1997. His mother, Janak Rani, is a homemaker. Kapil has been married to Ginni Chatrath since 2018 and has two children.

His career as a Comedian began after winning the Indian TV Show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge – Season 3,” which used to air on STAR One. He then consecutively won 6 seasons of Comedy Circus from 2010-2012.

He was also the host of the dance reality “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa-Season 6” and another comedy show, “Chhote Miyan,” which aired on Colors TV.

Kapil then launched his show, “Comedy Nights with Kapil,” on Colors TV.

He also acted in movies like “Kis Kis ko Pyaar Karu” in which he played the lead role of Shivkumar. He also played the role of Laxman’s father in the movie “Tubelight.”

After “Comedy Nights with Kapil” ended, Kapil signed up with Sony TV for a new show named “The Kapil Sharma Show.” After which, he started working on Sony TV for “The Kapil Sharma Show” under his K9 Productions.
