Ramgarh Fort, Chandigarh

It is one of the best Historical places in Chandigarh. The Chandel Rajputs once ruled Ramgarh fort before the king the Bilaspur took control 360 years ago. A 37 feet wooden door gives a glimpse of what lies ahead of the door. An interesting fact was the entry was declared as the Indian’s tallest wooden door, which was recorded by the Limca books of World Records. Anand Chand, Ram Chand, Gopal Chand were some of the Rajas’ names who ruled Ramgarh fort since its inception.

PinjoreGardens, Chandigarh

It is known as build by the foster brother of emperor Aurangzeb, Nawab Fidai Khan. The Garden is in the village of Pinjore, which lies 22 km from Chandigarh Ambala road. Khan built it in the 17th century during the reign of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Beautiful fountains, museums are the charms of this Garden. It covers an area of 100 acres which displays architectural rudiments of Mughal and Rajput kings. Maharaja Yadavindra of the Patiala dynasty later renovated the Garden.

Manimajra Fort

According to Mahan Kosh, known as the encyclopedia of Sikkim, he pointed that Mani Majra was a town in the Ambala district of Punjab Province. In 1821, it was conquered by Gareeb das. He turned 84 other villages into the capital of his newly created state. The government took control of the property of this fort which Bhagwan Das last ruled. The shooting of the Oscar-winning movie Zero Dark thirty made this fort very prevalent.

Nada Sahib, Chandigarh

Nada Sahib is placed on National Highway 503 near the Sutlej River. It was founded in 1665 in June by Ninth Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur. The first and second battles in Anandpur happened in 1700 and 1704, respectively. Nada Sahib consists of many histories of Sikhs in the duration of more than three centuries. One of the incidents occurred decades ago in 1688, where Guru Govind Singh was stopped during his journey to Anandpur Sahib from Paonta Sahib. Landmarks of this place are:

 Jayanti Devi temple, Chandigarh

The temple located at hillock is among one of most historical temples in Chandigarh. At a distance of 14km from Chandigarh, sources say the Pandava Princes built the Mahabharat temple. The shrine holds the idols of Lord Ganesha and Laxshmi maa. A small dam in this area was constructed by the Water conservation department and Punjab soil.

Around 550 years ago, during the Lodi dynasty, Hathnaur, a small land, was situated in the northern part of Chandigarh. The king had 22 brothers. One of his brothers was married to the daughter of King of Kangra.
